A LITTLE ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
E&W Couture is an independent bridal studio based in the heart of Cardiff, creating modern, wearable wedding outfits for people who want to feel like themselves on their wedding day. Founded in 2014 by designer Sophie Creed, E&W was born from a love of vintage fabrics, a deep respect for the craft of making, and a desire to offer something different in bridal - something more grounded, more inclusive, and more personal.
Every E&W piece is designed, cut, and sewn in our city centre studio overlooking Cardiff Castle. We don’t outsource a thing. Our small team works in-house across all stages of production (from the first sketch to the final fitting) ensuring quality, consistency, and care in every step. It’s bridal that feels considered, not mass-produced.

WHAT WE STAND FOR
We believe that modern bridalwear should be as comfortable as it is beautiful. That it should be inclusive, sustainable, and adaptable. Our designs are known for clean lines, ease of movement, and thoughtful features like light corsetry, pockets, and customisable finishes. We offer made-to-order sizing up to a UK 28 as standard and go beyond that with bespoke patterns, because no body is out of bounds.
Our goal is simple: to bring the bridal experience back to reality. We want to make great design accessible without the pressure, without the drama. By producing mindfully and keeping everything local, we create pieces with purpose and longevity, rather than throwaway fashion moments.

Sophie creed
Our designer
Sophie studied fashion design at Glamorgan University before launching a vintage clothing and homeware store in 2009. There, she began creating one-off dresses from recycled materials, laying the foundations for the E&W ethos of sustainable, small-scale design. In 2014, she launched E&W’s first collection, drawing on vintage pattern cutting and modern styling. Sophie continues to lead the business hands-on, overseeing everything from design and construction to fittings and final production.

Sustainability
Sustainability is built into the way we work, not tacked on as an afterthought. From using Vegan certified and recycled fabrics to making everything to order, our process is designed to reduce waste and support responsible fashion. We keep our supply chain small, sourcing from UK and European mills and try minimise transport emissions where possible.
Our offcuts are donated to creative charities or repurposed. We also partner with Ecologi to offset carbon emissions through reforestation projects.
We are currently looking for suitable ways to shred our offcuts to make pet bedding for charities

Sizing + Inclusivity
Our in-store samples currently range from UK 8–22, and we make all designs up to a UK 28 as standard. We also offer custom sizing through bespoke patterns. Our fittings are relaxed and pressure-free, with the focus on helping you feel good, not squeezing into a standard size.
We're a safe space for all humans — unless you’re into walls, bans, or bad tans. Then we’re probably not your vibe.

Collabs + Community
We’re proud of our Welsh roots and love working with other small and ethical businesses. One of our favourite collaborations was with the West London Waste Authority, where we created a 100% recycled bridal dress from donated clothing, helping divert over 2 tonnes of fabric from landfill.
We're always looking to work with local busineses and we can recommend all the best spots for if you're hanging around in Cardiff!

What we love
Humanist ceremonies. Creative thinking. Dogs (especially Fritz, our miniature dachshund studio mascot). Slow fashion. Interior design. Local cafes. Soft fabrics. Practical pockets. And outfits that just feel right.
